Fig jam

Labels: This jam has been made as near yo done I was given from South -Africa, where the ingredients were simply Figs, wine and sunflower seeds. So I cut them and simmered it until the jam was thick.

Hello, I'm Jill. I'm starting this blog because it might interest people who find cooking difficult when physically challenged. I had a severe stroke 7 years ago, leaving me one handed. Cooking has always been important in my life, as a mother, a grandmother and a professional cook. Since my stroke it hasn't stopped me. But, I have had to find different ways of cooking. This blog will be a combination of dishes cooked by me and tips to help anyone with one hand. I look forward to reading your responses and comments and maybe your own tips and recipes. I wonder how many poeple use a belly clamp? I find it extremely useful for opening bottles ,tins with a ring pull opener,and jars. Also i frequently use a gadget for peeling and chopping vegetables. will post a pic of these as soon as I can get the camera sorted. Jill
